ICEICT 2022 Best Paper Award Regulations

Shandong Li will be the Chair of ICEICT 2023, who currently is the dean of College of Electronics and Information, Qingdao University. The ICEICT 2022 establishes the Best Paper Award to encourage young scientists and students to participate in academic activities, further to improve the paper quality and expand conference influence. Accompanying the flourish of the 5th IEEE International Conference on Electronic Information and Communication Technology (ICEICT 2022), the online presentation becomes one of the important ways for academic exchange due to the impact of COVID-19. To encourage the online presentations at the ICEICT 2022, the “Best Paper Award” is created starting from the ICEICT 2022.
1. Eligibility
The papers to be shortlisted must satisfy:
1)  The paper is accepted by the ICEICT Technical Program Committee;
2)  The shortlisted paper must be oral presented by the first author of the paper online, and should be responded to all questions from the judges and/or audience.
3)  For convenience, the students and young scientists are all given a best paper award adjudicated by the award committee.
4)  For Best Paper Award, the papers written in English and the oral presentation should be given in English.
2. Requirement
The paper should possess important topic, clear contention, correct and scientific argument, clarity of written paper, and explicit intellectual property. Under these premises, the best paper must conform to one of the following conditions:
1)  The paper possesses a distinct idea or innovation recognized by the peers;
2) The paper precisely discusses the technological achievements in engineering with innovative content. It proposes new concepts, designs, technologies, and solutions, which cover the concerned issues and difficult problems in the field of the conference topics. The paper has a strong value to be referred and promoted;
3)  The survey paper should include abundant contents and distinct understanding. It should possess potential impact and special value for the development of a specific field;
4)   For Best Paper Award, the authors of the candidates should make a well-illustrated presentation and present the paper at ICEICT with oral interpretation in English.
3. Procedure
1)  The preliminary review committee of the best paper award and Student Best Paper Award is established. The chairman is appointed by the chairman of the procedure committee, with a secretary being allocated. All the submitted papers should choose the paper competition when you submit a paper. All the competition papers will be reviewed by the reviewers and the TPC members. Then, the paper will be recommended as a best paper. The award committee (Prof. Shandong Li, Prof. Weihua Zong and Prof. Yansheng Li) from the chairs of ICEICT 2023 will judge the quality and the presentation. Then the appointed chairman nominates committee members, who are valid with the approval of not less than two-thirds members of the procedure committee;
2)  For Best Paper Award and Best Student Paper Award, no more than 15 papers will be shortlisted. All the candidates should be excellent scored by at least two reviewers. Note that papers not presented at the ICEICT 2022 will be disqualified from the award competition;
3) The final review committee of the best paper award is established from the chairman of ICEICT 2023. The committee takes full responsibility of the defense. If a committee member is the co-author of the paper applying for the best paper award, then he or she must avoid the evaluation process;
4)  For Best Paper Award, the evaluating criteria consist of both the academic level and quality of presentation of the candidates;

4. Award
The best papers elected by these regulations are awarded:
1) A certificate of "ICEICT 2022 Best Paper Award". The certificate is signed by the chairman of the conference, and sealed by IEEE International Conference on Electronic Information and Communication Technology (ICEICT 2022);
2) A Money prize of CNY 500.
5. Supplement
1) If any objection of the elected best papers exists, please contact with the ICEICT TP committee;
2) For candidates with academic misconduct, the qualification for finalist should be canceled. The certificate and money prize will be withdrawn. Moreover, an official notification will be sent to the authors’ affiliation;
3) The ICEICT procedure committee holds the authority to establish and explain these regulations. (April 13, 2022)
