Presentation title: Beyond 5G Access Network Technology, Using Power and Radioon New Structure Hollow Core Fibers (Pof&RoF)

Abstract: For the next generation network, beyond 5G, millimetre or Tela-Hz wireless access must be used. In addition, ultra-low latency communication also important for controlling robot or autonomous driving vehicle.  For this purpose, we have built a campus network using hollow-core fiber, aiming for a breakthrough from devices that will meet the ultra-low delay requirements of beyond 5G. Hollow-core fibers have an air hole in the core and have succeeded in trapping light in the core. Using the characteristics of this fiber, we will report on the current experimental results regarding the possibilities of radio over fiber (RoF), and power over fiber (PWoF) which will use for new type of wireless access structure. We also opened the Keio Future Optical Network Open Research Center to make these available for open use.
